Director's Statement from Gregg Araki: I’m SO excited about the glorious 4K restoration of MYSTERIOUS SKIN! When we made this little indie 20 years ago, we barely had enough money to finish it, let alone pay for a Digital Intermediate and the bells and whistles of a larger studio film. I would never drastically alter the film which has such an amazing and passionate following around the world. However, the incredible tools made possible by modern digital technology helped us polish and enhance the picture in a way that wasn’t possible in the early 00’s. MYSTERIOUS SKIN holds a special place in my heart and I can’t wait for audiences, present and future, to experience this new definitive version of it.
